□ MORE ON ANGONO
Originally, as the legend goes, Angono was a village consisting of 50 families, ruled over by Datu Biga. Their village was located on a hilltop, still known to this day as Biga. Natives traditionally refer to their datu as "Ang Puno" or "Ang Uno". To the Spaniards who discovered the place, this was soon translated into "Angono".
A quiet municipality in the province of Rizal, Angono has numerous art galleries and museums, and has fathered at least two national artists - muralist Carlos "Botong" Francisco and musical composer Lucio San Pedro. It is more casually known as the "Art Capital of the Philippines."
